Many of our everyday English words have Germanic roots – words like pretzel, kindergarten, dachshund, frankfurter, poltergeist. Join me in this experimental workshop where we will explore the use of commonly used German words in producing our own poetry in English. Over three two-hour sessions we will create poetry using a variety of German words and their meanings in a fun and positive environment, integrating them into English poetry with our unique Irish culture. Session four will be a reading of the poetry created during the workshops. I hope you’ll come along and join us for this interesting and unique experience.
