Dorothy DoLittle is a lovely girl but she is always tired and grumpy. However all that is about to change for Dorothy!! With the help of Magic Dust Dorothy goes on an adventure to the land of the DoLots, where she meets magical characters who teach her all about being fit and healthy. She learns the secret of the Food and Exercise Pyramids. But the Magic Dust is stolen!! Will Dorothy get fit and healthy enough to get it back and be able to return home???

Knockaderry Drama Group present The Kings of the Kilburn High Road by Jimmy Murphy.
In the mid 1970s, a group of young men left their homes in the West of Ireland and sailed across the sea to England in the hope of making their fortunes and returning home. Twenty five years later only one, Jackie Flavin, makes it home - but does so in a coffin. The play takes place on the day that the winners and losers of the group meet up to drink to Flavin’s memory and looks at their lives, lost dreams and their place in the new Ireland.

Bad Sunday is a masterful piece of physical comedy. It tells the story of a family outing in a borrowed car, where the eccentric father, prim and proper mother, dysfunctional son and daughter and religious zealot of a granny in turn confess to various acts of indecency, destruction and disorder. Funny from the start, and right through, with some poignant moments, this piece never lets up on energy, and is guaranteed to entertain. Running Time – 1hour

Geraldine O Grady & Oonagh Keogh with Margaret O’Sullivan (piano)
Mother and daughter Geraldine O'Grady and Oonagh Keogh are two of Ireland's most renowned violinists, and have performed together throughout Ireland, Europe, the West Indies and the USA.
Together they will present an informal concert of violin favourites including the music of Vivaldi, Back and Haydn.
Geraldine has been in the forefront of Irish Music since she graduated from the Paris Conservatoire with the coveted Premier Prix and First Place, and has had a distinguished international career as recitalist and soloist with major symphony orchestras. Oonagh Keogh has performed extensively as a soloist and is a member of the much-acclaimed Irish Chamber Orchestra. Margaret O’Sullivan is in constant demand as an accompanist, duo partner and repetiteur.**

St. Patrick Players, Cloverfield present The Plough and the Stars by Sean O’Casey
Set in the Dublin tenements in the year 1916, the play centres on a young married couple called Jack and Nora Clitheroe. Jack is a member of the Irish Citizen Army. Nora is ambitious to move out of the tenements and to prevent her husband from involving himself further in politics.

Memoir Writing
Memoir is a literary term that means from memory.
Memoir is an account of the author’s personal experiences – it tries to capture certain highlights or meaningful experiences from the past.
Memoir is a unique form of life writing that allows the author to confront and contemplate a significant period in their life and through the creative
process share their experience and insights with others.
If you have a life story that you have been waiting to write and if you would like to learn more about the memoir genre and participate in creative writing lessons, contact Friars’ Gate.

*Creative Writing Workshops *
Select/write short stories that you consider worth perfecting/polishing
for publication/submission for competition. Print two copies of each
story. One copy should have the participants name and contact details on
the top of each page and should be submitted prior to the first class.
The other copy should not have a name on it and should be brought to the
first meeting of the group.
*Class will be divided into two parts:*
Each participant will “swap” their story with another member of the
group (N.B. – there should not be a name on this copy). Each member will
read the story they are given and make suggestions/ comments on the
text. All stories should be double spaced with adequate margins.
The second half of the class will consist of the participants reading
their chosen work aloud for the group. As a group, we will offer our
perspective on each story.
